Mud Vulcano – Vulcanelli di Macalube

Mud volcano  refers to formations created by geo-exuded mud, water and gases. There are several geological processes that may cause the formation of mud volcanoes. Mud volcanoes are not true igeneous volcanoes   as they produce no lava. The earth continuously exudes a mud-like substance, which may sometimes be referred to as a “mud volcano” (wikipedia). We found this place by accident while travelling Sicily.  Due to the dry summer there were no high cones but it constantly bubbles around you.
