German History

Until the opening of the inner German border in 1989 the 17th of June used to be the German National Day in memory of the revolt from 1953. One of the focal points of the revolt of 1953  was todays Federal Ministry of Finance. The place is now called “Platz des Volksaufstandes von 1953”.

  1. Wow, huge historical mural! Very nice find Traudel. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.

  2. I love the historical aspect to this incredibly large mural. The clothes appear period, or at least as I have seen that era in books. I apologize for visiting so late. I’m having trouble leaving comments.
