Lake Reschen

Lake Reschen is an artificial lake in the western portion of South Tyrol, Italy approximately 2 km (1 mi) south of the Reschen Pass, which forms the border with  Austria. When the lake was dammed up in 1950, the entire village of Graun and a large part of the village of Reschen were submerged in the floods of the reservoir. Today only the church tower protruding from the Reschensee testifies to the sunken Alt-Graun.
