Another name

…is also known as Giant Cow Parsley, Giant Cow Parsnip or hogsbane.

In Germany we call it Riesenschierling or Riesenbärenklau or Bärenkralle or Herkulesstaude.

It can grow to heights between 2 and 5m. The flowers are enormous. We found many of this plant along the river Kyll, I have never seen so many.

  1. I’ve never come across any Giant Hogweed, though there’s been lots of the smaller Common Hogweed about over the last month or two around here. A fascinating plant. Thanks for sharing. 😄
