Vulcanelli di Macalube

A natural phenomenon in Sicily near Agrigent. Pressurized natural gas brings the soil beneath the surface to light through small explosions through the top layer of the earth. The bubbling mud dries in the sun and forms tiny volcanoes. We visited in 2010, but I heard it is closed for visitors since 2014-
