Oulu, City of Finland

Oulu is the most important city in Northern Finland and also the most northern city of the European Union. While Oulu used to be famous for wood tar and salmon, the city is now known primarily as a center of the Finnish IT industry and for its distinctive wellness culture.

In the garden behind the town hall stands the sculpture “Ajan kulku” (The Course of Time). The bronze figures describe the development of Oulu from the 17th century to the present day.
