I am not a bird person… I checked on google pictures but couldn’t find the corect one. I only found the German name of “Wattvogel”. We saw it at the North Sea coast.
It’s a pied advocet (Säbelschnäbler in German).
If you want to identify a bird, here is a website (in German, though) where you can enter characteristics step and by step and get to the correct bird which you’ve observed.
“Wattvogel” is only a group of birds that lives in that special landscape (tidal flats or mud flats).
Beautifully contrasting coloring. Do you know the variety of bird? Lovely photos! Thanks for joining the challenge!

Ahh, I forgot the Nabu-website: https://www.nabu.de/natur-und-landschaft/natur-erleben/spiele-apps-klingeltoene/vogelfuehrer/index.html
Ah gut, danke.
What a beak on that bird! Quite a pretty bird, too.
