The “Freiburg Bächle” are small water-filled runnels in the Black Forest city of Freiburg in southern Germany. They are supplied by the Dreisam and can be seen along most streets and alleyways in the old city, being one of the city’s most famous landmarks.
I visited the place last year during a very hot period. Young and old used the Bächle to refresh themselves, kids played and the adults just stuck their feet in the cool water – we did too!
